A wonderful 1940s/50s pub scene. The artist capturing the effect and atmosphere of every day life of ordinary people in their local public house, partaking in the normality of drinking and smoking after quite possibly a hard days graft. Very much in the vein, albeit slightly more abstract of how ‘Edouart Manet’ would paint, whose brush strokes were loose & broad.
Indistinctly signed to the bottom left and to the verso.
