A delightful, rare & unusual mahogany veneered medicine, apothecary cabinet, circa 1920’s. Coming away from the Edwardian period, this looks to be a fore runner to the art deco movement with a wonderful mix of styles that looked to be ahead of its time. The focal central glazed & shelved locking pier cabinet, flanked by dovetail jointed drawers with bakelite knob handles. Attention to detail carries forward to the locking cupboard beneath with circular string inlay and geometric symmetry. The lower structure with four elegantly shaped legs connected by a central shelf is what shows off this piece in all its glory. Comes with original key that locks both cabinet and cupboard.
Condition: Wear commensurate with age. some staining to linen lining in glazed cabinet. Some light wear to shelving. Overall in super order.
