A beautiful & impressive five tier (seven section) Globe Wernicke oak Barristers/Library stacking bookcase on a plinth base with sliding drawer, circa 1920s, with typical lift and slide glass doors. Comes with original makers badge to lower section section. This type of bookcase was often referred to as a Barristers bookcase and advertised as “Always complete but never finished” due to the variations that could be achieved by adding or taking away sections. This particular version splits down into seven stacking sections including plinth base (with the rare sliding drawer arrangement) and cornice top that fit snugly and seamlessly into or onto the next.

A superb example, aged beautifully, retaining its rich oak colour with wonderful shades of the lighter honey oak showing through.

Condition: Strong, robust & fully functional. Obviously been looked after very well. Quite remarkable condition for their age with only very light wear.
