Vintage Hollywood Regency Marble Coffee Table
An impressive, highly decorative, Hollywood regency gilt, brass & marble coffee table, circa 1970s. The striking ochre veined rectangular cut and polished pink marble slab sits harmoniously on top the grandeur gilt metal & brass framework. Ormolu mounted lion head masks can be seen to the corners of the peripheral apron along with other small ornamental motifs. The wonderfully shaped fluted & gadrooned legs modelled & cast in the embodiment of Greek and Roman architecture with flowing foliage & acanthus leaf detailing, all terminating on brass ball feet with the whole structure united by two curved stretchers with a centre medallion.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with only very minor wear. No chips to marble. One darker vein to edge of marble, totally natural. Top can lift off base for ease of portability as fairly heavy for its size.
