Art Deco Oak Glazed Library Bookcase - Display Cabinet
Art Deco Oak Glazed Library Bookcase - Display Cabinet
A stunning example of an early 20th century, Art Deco oak glazed bookcase display cabinet, circa 1930s This iconic piece is exquisite in build quality and design. The substantial glazed double doors with heavy gauge brass pull handles and original bevelled glass fit snugly and deliberately when locked closed with genuine authentic key. Unlocking the doors, open to reveal a four-tiered height adjustable shelving system for books or displays. The main body framed and headed by a softly curved surround then flanked by a graduated half rocket detailing inspired by the skyscraper and in essence the epitome of the art deco era/style and one that sets this piece part from the rest.
A superb example of a well crafted piece of quality Art Deco furniture.
Colour is dark oak with wonderful tones of the lighter honey oak showing through.
Condition is commensurate with age and use. Solid, robust and fully functional. Overall superb.
