A cracking 19th Century Victorian cast iron strong box chest, storage trunk with repeating geometric and floral relief panels with authentic skeleton key and original paint. The chest opens up to reveal an unrestricted interior with striking and once again original colourways, this time in wonderful red. The tactile brass knob handle and raised escutcheon further enhance this piece and although quite heavy, this chest is fairly small, very neat and aesthetically beautiful.

Whether you use this entirely for its primary purpose of stowing away items of value or utilize as a coffee/side table, or both, it will make a fabulous addition to the room of choice.

Wonderfully engineered and crafted. The substantial three lock system runs and works extremely well. The patination this has gained through the years is superb and this has all been waxed, polished and sealed in to retain its charm.

Condition: Commensurate with its age and use. No thinning through oxidation. overall, a gem!
