£0.00

A handsome two tier (four section) Globe Wernicke ‘Universal’ Barristers/Library stacking bookcase on a raised base, circa 1920s with typical lift and slide glass doors. Comes with original makers plaque to each glazed section. This type of bookcase was often referred to as a Barristers bookcase and advertised as “Always complete but never finished” due to the variations that could be achieved by adding or taking away sections. This particular version is constructed of mahogany and splits down into four sections (including raised base on square tapering legs and cornice top) that fit snugly and seamlessly into or onto the next.

Overview: A rare early example that can house larger books, files or displays. A well proportioned piece that displays a super colour and grain. All original glass and brass pull handles.

Condition: Solid, robust and fully functional. Dings, marks or scars associated with a working piece of furniture commensurate of its age. Small marks or dull spots to top polished in and hard to pick up on camera.

Measurements: (overall) Height: 102cm Width: 87cm Depth: 29cm
