Haberdashery Shop counter Kitchen Island
Haberdashery Shop counter Kitchen Island
An impressive and substantial, early 20th century haberdashery / apothecary shop counter, bank of drawers, circa 1920s. Constructed in pitch pine and oak, incorporating twelve dovetail jointed drawers, eight short and four long with each retaining its original & authentic brass cup handle. Showing here in its original paint stain finish. Full of character and charm, boasting an enviable and consistently rich patination in colour and in grain built up over time. Wonderful timbers to the rear make this an ideal centrepiece (island) as it looks as good from the back as it does the front.
Highly decorative, versatile and practical furnishing that is timeless in appearance.
Condition & notes: Heavy construction. Solid, robust and fully functional. Wear commensurate with age. Dings dents & scars associated with a working piece of furniture. Any woodworm is historic and treated twice as a precautionary measure. Drawer runners are original with wear and all fully functional. Narrow historic settled fissure to one side. Photographs sum up this piece nicely. Available to view by appointment. Please ask if you need any further information.
