The Iconic Ladderax.

Ladderax is a modular shelving and storage system created by Robert Heal in 1964 for Staples of Cricklewood and retailed through high end stores in London. It is an iconic example of Mid-Century modern design.

This well worked layout of Ladderax comprises of three adjustable sections on four upright ladders including a drop leaf writing desk, cupboard with lock and original key which opens up to reveal handy pigeonhole storage compartments and eleven shelves to include six full depth and five half depth, all constructed in teak.

The Ladderax System consists of a number of upright ladders, supporting shelves and cabinets. These are fixed by resting on steel support rods, hooked on to the rungs of the ladders. They fit into grooves under the shelves and cabinets. This allows easily assembly and flexibility. Ladderax does not require any permanent fixing to a wall, because it self-supports.

Condition: Overall superb with only very light wear showing it has been very well looked after. Like all vintage pieces…….it will show some signs of wear. The fall front desk / cupboard for example is in lovely condition. An absolute standout storage display piece!
