An exquisite & rare early 18th century Spanish baroque ‘Putti’ mirror. Headed and flanked by hand carved and painted theatrical like ‘Putti’ masks that bring with it an expressive sense of rich elegance and drama. The gilt wood & gesso surround made up of scrolling foliated elements carved into the openwork wood. An armorial circular configuration can be seen at the crest, whilst a shield shaped coat of arms sits beneath an intricately carved crown at the lower structure. Last purchased in Madrid many years ago and brought to England by a lady who sold her home to a well known Spanish, Hollywood actor.
